Product Description

Choose Carphunter for all your fishing equipment. Fishing poles, cheap fishing poles and carp fishing poles. Carphunter provides value for money on all fishing equipment.

Fishing Whips are very similar to poles as neither requires a fishing reel

Whips tend to be generally flexible in their design and especially flexible in the tip section which gives you a quick response when striking.

In general the length of the whip is about the same length of the average match/float rod (12-14ft). The line is attached directly to the tip section of the whip, 1–2ft shorter than the extended length of the whip.

The benefit of the whip compared to a pole is that you always use it fully extended so there is no adding and removing the sections whilst fishing. The whip is really at home swinging in small silver fish in a match situation where speed and accuracy are all important.

When buying a whip, ensure that the tip section is not too stiff. If it is too stiff then your striking ability will be severely restricted which means that you will end up missing bites and loosing fish. A good whip will be light and comfortable to hold; it should also be strong and stiff at the handle end yet have a slim but flexible tip section. Again like poles, a whip should not display excessive sag when holding them. A good quality whip should be more or less straight when held.

Obviously the limitations of the whip are that you can only fish the distance that your rod and line length will let you. So if the fish are at distance then you will not be able to use the whip to catch them.

The big advantage of the whip is that as there is no casting involved lighter more sensitive floats can be used, this means that more delicate bites will be detected which will increase you catch rate. Also as your line is directly attached to the tip of the whip your bait presentation and fishing accuracy is likely to be much better than that of a traditional rod and real set up.
